Be prepared to paint looser, bolder, freer, and work more intuitively. Create layers and textures in your painting while you learn the basic elements of design, mediums and methods of application. OIL PAINTING TECHNIQUES 3 weeks
All the basics for people who want to give oil painting a try. Learn where to begin and how to proceed. Explore composition, design, color mixing and how to get the subject onto canvas. Set up your palette and work station, and practice how to paint safety, move past your fears and get paint where you want it. You will be given loads of information to help you decide if oil painting is for you, plus hands-on help to get going. Paint from the still life or from reference material of your own. Monoprinting is an exciting printing method that combines painting and drawing with stamping, transfers, textures, and a touch of chance! Use water-based inks to make one of a kind painterly prints. Learn the basics of additive and subtractive printing, registration, color mixing, using textures to create tones, ghost printing, and how to make prints from your home. PRINTED MIXED MEDIA HOLIDAY CARD
In this half-day workshop, make holiday greeting cards using printmaking, stamping, stenciling and transfer techniques. Use water-based inks and fine art paper to make one-of-a-kind cards to send to friends and family. This workshop is an excellent introduction to printmaking and after the class you will be able to make cards anytime at home. Materials list provided upon registration.

PAINT YOUR PET
What a great way to honor the bond between you and your pet! This class is delivered in a simplistic and encouraging manner; great for those that have never painted as well as those who have. Lovejoy is a very gifted and positive instructor who will guide you through, not only the steps of painting your pet but also through the mental steps of self-acceptance as you do something you may have never done before. Trust; as Lovejoy walks you through both processes. Painting is like handwriting, everyone has their own style and with practice you will develop skills and a comfort level and is highly therapeutic and healing. Many people in these classes have painted one of their pets who had passed and have stated how much better they felt after honoring their loved one. You will paint from a photo, so please email 2 – 3 in-focus photographs of your pet at least 3 days prior to class (sooner is better). Class will be held in Lovejoy’s studio. DAY OF THE DEAD FLOWER SKULL
Honor the memory of a loved one who have passed; human or animal. On canvas, paint a skull with texture, flowers, hearts, curly cues and other decorative elements. Receive step by step Instruction as you are guided to create your unique painting using acrylic paint. Your skull outline will be pre-drawn on canvas, so, when enrolling, please choose either a Cat, a Dog, a Horse, or a Human (half or full view). All supplies provided. Class will be held in Lovejoy’s studio. Location and directions given upon registration. Space is limited, enroll early.

Eat, Drink, Be Merry and Paint! Enjoy a time out with your friends or on your own! It’s all about having fun, making a painting while enjoying snacks and creativity. No special talent or experience required; only a willingness to have a good time. Everyone will have the same painting as inspiration and paint along as artist Nancy Isbell takes you step-by-step to create your masterpiece on a 16″ x 20″ canvas. Your inner creativity is opened up and takes over. You may have never picked up a paint brush or you may have years of painting experience. It doesn’t matter! It’s not a competition. And you just might get hooked on painting!
Take home with a finished painting and the memory of a fun-filled time.
For the artistic and not so artistic, experience creative fun with your friends or on your own as you paint in a real artist’s studio at Bravo School of Art. Feeling a little bit nervous? Don’t worry., it’s easy and totally stress-free. Be amazed at the artwork you create!
Come early to get a choice seat and to mix and mingle. Feel free to bring snacks, your favorite growler from Stone Brewing, a bottle of wine or beverage. Cups and a corkscrew are available for your use. Abundant free parking. Please register in advance!
